How to help?
As we remember together on 11 November those that have given their lives, we believe that honouring the sacrifices they made involves not only remembering their struggles but also actively working to prevent future injustices.  To call out fascism, uphold human rights and make a stand for peace.

There are many active conflicts where children and civilians are being targeted and killed – whether by direct fire or as a consequence of war (being denied access to basic needs such as food, water and shelter) – all war crimes under the UN charter, for which we have a responsibility as a nation to uphold.  Failure to call these crimes out marginalises the atrocities and provides precedent for them to happen again.

Dear [MP's Name],

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you as a constituent deeply concerned about the current state of global affairs and the position our government is taking in response.

<Option to include for those who have a military connection>

As we remember those who fought for human rights and freedom on Remembrance Sunday, I think about how I /My relative (RANK NAME of the REGIMENT) bravely served/fought for these principles <in name of conflict if appropriate >.

This commitment to defending freedom and human rights is very important to me. It is for this reason that I urge you to advocate for a British role internationally that actively supports the United Nations and upholds the principles of the Geneva Convention.

<For everyone to include>

It is essential at this crucial juncture in history that we reaffirm our commitment to fight fascism, offer international cooperation and adhere to humanitarian standards. The UN and the Geneva Convention are cornerstones of global efforts to protect human rights and provide aid and protection to those in need. By taking a morally defensible role, Britain can set an example for others and contribute to a more just and peaceful world.

As we stand together on Remembrance Sunday to remember those that have given their lives, I believe that honouring the sacrifices they made involves not only remembering their past struggles but also actively working to prevent future injustices. I implore you to ensure that our government prioritises diplomacy, humanitarian aid, and adherence to international laws that safeguard human dignity.

I urge you to champion policies that strengthen our commitment to the UN and the Geneva Convention. Our actions today will resonate far into the future, shaping a world that reflects the values of freedom and justice that so many fought to protect.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter. I look forward to your response.

Yours sincerely,
